OMGD Guidelines : Please see below for you information

1. What is the Ordre Mondial?
The Organization ¡°Ordre Mondial des Gourmets Degustateurs¡± is a section of the Confrerie de la Chaine des Rotisseurs. It was founded in Paris in 1963, under the leadership of the Chaine des Rotisseurs.
More details about the OMGD you will find on our international website: www.chaine-des-rotisseurs.net under "Ordre Mondial".

2. Meanings and purpose of the Organization.
The Ordre Mondial is devoted essentially to noble spirits, such as wine, vintage brandies, spirits and liquors. Its purpose aims to increase its members understanding and deepen their knowledge of these products. Putting aside its specific aspect, an Ordre Mondial event has to be a pleasure and bring a lot of joy to its members. Camaraderie and mutual respect are the main duties and an honour.

3. Activities / Tasks.
The main task of the Ordre Mondial is the organization of events, during which the noble spirits are put in a prominent position. To accompany the noble spirits appropriate dishes are served. Other tasks can include wine tastings, conferences, competitions, interviews, etc. All tasks must meet the interest of the Ordre Mondial¡¯s members and guests.

4. Who can become member of the Ordre Mondial.
Each member of the Confrerie of the Chaine des Rotisseurs can become a member of the OMGD, provided that he is sponsored by a member of the OMGD. The induction, (double or simple), takes place in connection with a Chapitre of the Chaine des Rotisseurs.
The members of the OMGD include professionals, working in the drink sector, such as distributors and producers, and ¡°amateurs¡± who simply have a love, enjoyment or passion for fine wines and quality spirits. Accordingly, members are classified in the same way as in the Chaine: that is, as ¡°professional¡± or ¡°amateur¡± (non-professional)

5. Difference between the Chaine des Rotisseurs and the Ordre Mondial.
Within the Chaine des Rotisseurs, the art of fine cuisine and the culture associated with fine dining are privileged. The members of the Ordre Mondial are those who have a particular affinity with the noble spirits and who wish to increase their knowledge in this area.
